Weather in Cooma

Well Hi there! We are Chris & Jenny Malikoff.

Omaroo is our 48.4Ha (120 acre) property 15 minutes out of the Alpine town of Cooma towards Adaminaby in the Snowy Mountains Shire of NSW, Australia.

We own & manage our Pug kennel called "Lil Rascals" - based south of Sydney, NSW Australia. Currently we have eight Puggalugs - 4 fawn females (Chops, Zippy, Choo Choo and a new girl from the current litter - "Mung Bean"), one black female (Sputnik), 2 fawn males (Bongo and a new boy from the current litter "Rover") plus our latest little black male - "Brue". Our Pugs are our family. They share our house and are included in everything we do - and all of them come on holidays with us wherever we go. They're probably some of the best-travelled Pugs around! Pugs make great travelling companions and love riding in the car - all safely secured, of course.

We don't believe in mixed breeds or breeding programs, and strive to better our purebred Pug lines without contamination. Jenny shows our dogs as often as she can, nearly every weekend if possible.

Please visit the Gallery menu to see them. If you have any Pug-related questions for Jenny, she'd be more than glad to help if you write to her via the Contact Us menu - or alternatively leave a comment via the Guestbook menu at the top of the page.

Chris is an avid amateur astronomer, with a particular interest in astrophotography.  We are both members of the Macarthur Astronomical Society in Sydney. Also go to the gallery to see images of the night sky that Chris has captured.

Omaroo Features:

  • Elevation starts at 790m above sea level at the river and rises to 910m at the top of "Goat Hill"
  • Soil is primarily basalt-based and the ground is typical of the area - rocky
  • Northerly aspects are covered in natural high-country grasses
  • Southern aspects are heavily wooded by local gums
  • An orchard lies on the eastern side near the main entrance
  • River flats are green and grassy - and a great place to camp
  • The top of "Goat Hill" is relatively flat, resulting in approx 40 acres of area for an eventual house
  • Snow does fall in a cold winter

Omaroo is about 40 kilometres south east of Adaminaby, and the NSW snow fields are only just over an hour away. It is bordered on two sides by watercourses - Peak Creek and the Murrumbidgee River.
